Today morning, Hon. Henry Okello ORYEM, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Affairs) met and held discussions with the Cuban Ambassador, H.E Mrs.Tania Perez, at the Ministry headquarters.

 

Hon. Minister, warmly welcomed the Ambassador of Cuba and expressed gratitude for the strong bilateral relations that exist between the two countries. Both parties discussed various matters of mutual interest, including trade, investment, healthcare, education, and cultural exchange.

 

Furthermore, Hon. Minister acknowledged Cuba's significant contribution to Uganda's development through various cooperation programs, particularly in the fields of healthcare and education. This includes the scholarships granted to Ugandan students to pursue higher education in Cuba.

 

H.E Perez, reiterated the importance of the historical bilateral relations between Uganda and Cuba premised on common values and mutual understanding in promoting development in the areas of Health and Education .She assured the Honorable Minister of her efforts to enhance the already strong relations between Uganda and Cuba .

 

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing their commitment to further strengthening the friendly relations between Uganda and Cuba.
