An ICT Regulators Meeting of Northern Corridor Integration Projects (NCIPs) to review the implementation of the One Network Area (ONA) has opened this morning, Thursday, 14th September 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda. The member states of the Northern Corridor Integration Projects are Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, and Kenya. The meeting is expected to review the emerging issues from the implementation of the ONA including review of roaming charges within the region, SMS and Data frameworks as directed during the 14th Summit of Heads of State in 2018.

MSFA/IA held a meeting with Mr. Chang Ho-jin - the 1st Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Korea.

Today MSFA/IA held a meeting with Mr. Chang Ho-jin - the 1st Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Korea. During the meeting the two Principals emphasized the need for people to people interaction as a way of deepening bilateral ties, trade and political cooperation. MSFA/IA informed his host of the abundant opportunities in Uganda especially: agro processing, energy sector, oil and gas, tourism which Koreans should seize. Uganda is peaceful and ripe for development.

The PS/MFA , Hon Vincent Bagiire held series of meetings at the Secretariat of Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination Authority(NCTTCA) and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in Mombasa.

The MSFA/IA Hon. Okello Oryem and MFA of Singapore Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan met at the Ministry Headquarters in Singapore. The two discussed issues of mutual interest including areas of cooperation in line with promotion of trade & investment between the two countries.The Minister of Foreign Affairs Singapore proposed to his counterpart of the need for Uganda to enact investment protection laws. Hon. Okello Oryem extended an invitation to his host to visit Uganda.

Hon. John Mulimba held a meeting with H.E Mehmet Fatih AK, the Ambassador of Turkey to Uganda.

Earlier on today 31/08/2023, the MSF/RC Hon. John Mulimba held a meeting with H.E  Mehmet Fatih AK, the Ambassador of Turkey to Uganda.
 
The two discussed issues of mutual interest between the two nations.
 
The Ambassador gave an update on Ugandans being held in detention centres in Turkey and confirmed that the number stands at 145.
 
He confirmed that measures are under way to ensure that they are repatriated back to Uganda timely.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the 12th edition of the Annual Rotary Cancer Run

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated and mobilised its missions abroad to take part in this year's 12th edition of the Annual Rotary Cancer Run which was organised under the theme Running for Hope.The Ministry under its Dept of Public Diplomacy mobilised all diplomatic missions. Key among Uganda's missions abroad that participated included,Bujumbura, Kigali,Paris, Addis Ababa, Beijing,Uganda Consulate General, Mombasa and Dar es Salaam.
