PRESIDENT MUSEVENI MEETS FORMER BOTSWANA LEADER H.E. KHAMA AND SPACE FOR GIANTS DELEGATION

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met with former President of Botswana, H.E. Ian Khama, yesterday at State House Entebbe. The former President of Botswana was accompanied by a delegation from the global NGO, Space for Giants, led by its founder and CEO, Dr. Max Graham. Space for Giants is an organization championing the conservation of natural resources and wildlife in nine African countries, including Uganda, Kenya, Gabon, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, and Angola. Its headquarters are based in Nanyuki, Kenya.

UGANDA ENDORSED TO JOIN KHARTOUM PROCESS STEERING COMMITTEE

Uganda has been endorsed to the Khartoum Process Steering Committee, an announcement made during the Senior Officials’ Meeting taking place in Cairo, Egypt 17 th -18 th April 2024 The Khartoum Process was established in November 2014 to serve as a platform for political cooperation amongst the countries along the EU-Horn of Africa Migration Route. It is an inter-regional cooperation which facilitates collaboration and information exchange with a focus on migration.

Israeli Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Ugandan State Minister for Foreign Affairs

H.E. Michael Lotem, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Uganda, with residence in Nairobi, paid a courtesy call on the Honorable John Mulimba, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala. The meeting, held in the spirit of fostering bilateral relations between Israel and Uganda, served as a platform to discuss matters of mutual interest. During the meeting, Ambassador Lotem extended heartfelt congratulations to Uganda on the successful hosting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and Group of 77 (G77) conferences in January 2024.

SOUTH AFRICA PRESIDENT JETS IN THE COUNTRY FOR AN OFFICIAL WORKING VISIT

The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday 15th April, 2024 arrived in Uganda for an official working visit. He was warmly received at Entebbe International Airport by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Affairs, Hon. John Mulimba. President Ramaphosa was invited by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the two leaders are expected to meet tomorrow to discuss bilateral relations and other crucial matters at State House-Entebbe.

Gen(Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of South Africa
