PRESIDENT MUSEVENI INSPECTS PROGRESS OF INFRASTRUCTURE SITES AHEAD OF NAM AND G-77 SUMMITS

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, yesterday, November 18, 2023, inspected and assessed the readiness of various infrastructure projects ahead of the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Group of 77 (G-77) +China Third South summits. Uganda will host the two summits from 15th-23rd January 2024 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala. NAM will run under the theme: “Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence” whereas the Third South summit will focus on “Leaving No One Behind”. The Chairperson of the National Organising Committee for the upcoming 19th NAM & G77+China Summits due to take place in Kampala -Uganda on the 15th-20th and 21st - 23rd January,2024 respectively, Mrs. Lucy Nakyobe officiated at the Media launch that took place at the Serena Hotel, Kampala. The launch was aimed at giving an update to the general public and the international community on the status of Uganda's the preparedness to host the two Summits.

PRESIDENT YOWERI MUSEVENI ARRIVES IN ABU DHABI

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this evening arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the invitation of His Highness, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi. Receiving the president at the airport was His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks on Monday 13 th  November 2023. The Presidential Press Unit will keep posted on events as they unfold.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday 2nd November 2023 met and held discussions with the Venezuelan Envoys at State Lodge-Nakasero. The envoys included H.E Yvan Gil Pinto, the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Hon. Yuri Pimentel Moura, the Vice Minister for Africa in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Uganda attends the Pre-COP 28 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Uganda’s delegation led by H.E Adonia Ayebare, Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations is participating in the Pre COP 28 happening in Abu Dhabi from 30-31 October 2023. The two day event which kicked off yesterday was officially opened by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, President - Designate for COP28 UAE who called on the world to unite on climate action. The opening ceremony was followed by a plenary round table and thereafter break out sessions on thematic areas of adaptation, mitigation and means of implementation.
